To celebrate this week’s release of Shane Meadows’ heart-felt documentary The Stone Roses:Made Of Stone, at Film3Sixty we knocked our heads together to come up with ten of our favourite music documentaries.
Meadows’ new film charts the trials and tribulations of the reforming of The Stone Roses, headed up by Ian Brown who, since starting the band in the late 1980s, has risen to near cult-like status. Meadows set about documenting the band as they reformed in 2011. This meant following them on tour around Europe climaxing with a gig at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
Below we have chosen a broad selection of musical genres that show the perfect marriage that is music and film in all its glory. We hope you enjoy the selection, but as always let us know what your favourite music documentary is over @film3Sixty on Twitter or on our Facebook page.
The Stone Roses: Made of Stone is out in UK cinemas now.
